ONE DEFFEREND TRAINING (CANYON KAMNIK)

The Canyon Kamnik is spread on East from Stip, in the downhill of the mountain Plackovica. There are two paths which lead to the canyon. One is from the village Shashavarlija, where the path goes down the canyon and continues downriver. The other path begins from the village Radanje and in about 40 minutes of hiking, you enter directly into the

canyon. This path is directed opposite of the downriver. We decided for the second. The best period to visit this canyon is spring or autumn. However, the mild winter let us enough good weather conditions to visit this canyon in this time of the year.

Walking through Kamnik is a real pleasure because of the unique rocks that look like layers cumulated over the years. This is the reason why this place is called “Small Colorado”. The canyon abounds with a lot of waterfalls, which in some places make little pools along the river flow. The hiking is simple with an exception of some places where it is necessary to crawl on the rocks or to find some round path to avoid the water.

Using this path, you need 4 hours of continuous hiking to pass through the canyon. We passed a part of the canyon and then we went towards the village Shashavarlija and continued to Stip.
